Government of Rajasthan has set up the Factories and Boilers Inspection Department to inspect factories and boilers for the enforcement of the provision of Factories Act, 1948 and Boilers Act, 1923 and rules made there under for safety, health and welfare of the workers.

Factories and Boilers Inspection Department has a Safety Museum and Training Centre (SMTC) at Jaipur to provide periodic trainings to workers, supervisors or managers on the various aspects of safety. The training sessions are conducted by the safety experts.

An Industrial Hygiene Laboratory (IHL) has been set up and being operated by the department at Jaipur to take samples of air pollutants at the workplace to analyse and to suggest corrective measures for the betterment of occupation health of the workers.
The department has a qualified medical doctor as the certifying surgeon and Inspector (Medical) for the check up of the workers on-site/at Head Office for assessment and suggestion about the occupational health of the workers.
